Colton is already 4 months old. It's crazy how fast it's going by with him.
He is a big boy -- already 26 inches (90%) and 15lbs 12 oz (75%). He's one inch taller than Eden was at this age and almost one pound lighter.
Colton is such a good baby. He is super mellow. The only time he gets upset is when he is hungry or really tired. Otherwise, he is content to sit on my lap and do whatever I'm doing (he is happy when he's with mommy). He is very strong and very happy. He loves to smile, coo, and laugh -- he has a really funny laugh.
As far as skills go, he has mastered the art of grabbing toys in front of him and has rolled over a couple of times. Colton is sleeping pretty well through the night. He generally sleeps 12-hour nights and gets up 1-2 times per night to eat. He is also able to put himself back to sleep after waking up. As for eating, he still only nurses for about 5 minutes and eats every 2.5-3 hours. Although this doesn't seem like much, as you can see, he's getting what he needs. His hair is now a light golden brown, and his eyes are also brown (so far). Sadly, I go back to work soon and will miss hanging out with my sweet, little boy all day.

Eden and Huddy
Eden and Huddy have a bit of a love hate relationship. Mostly, they love each other. Sometimes, they fight over toys and hit each other. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, however. Since we've been back at home, Eden talks about him non-stop and says that she wants to see him again. Here are some pics of the two.

Halloween
We spent Halloween in Phoenix. Eden had a blast trick-or-treating with her cousins. She very quickly picked up on the ring the bell, say trick-or-treat, and get candy routine.

Eden turns 2!!
Wow, 2 years old? What a big girl! Eden is so unbelievably amazing. Although the past two years have been life changing and a little rough at times, we have enjoyed it more than we can describe. She is so smart, sharp, charming, sweet and witty. Who knew such a person could come from us? I could go on and on about her, but anybody who knows Eden knows what I'm talking about. It's a very rare occasion that Eden is unable to describe what she wants or what she is feeling. She has an amazing vocabulary, a big personality, and is very expressive. It's crazy to watch her learn all sorts of new things every day. This age is really fun. Happy Birthday, Eden!
We went to Arizona during my maternity leave and we were able to celebrate Eden's second birthday there. We had a great time celebrating with Eden's cousins and rest of the family. Eden was a little overwhelmed by everything, but loved the attention. The main event of the day was the Dora pinata that was filled with candy and toys. Eden was scared of the pinata, but she enjoyed picking up the treats that were inside. Here are some pictures from the day.

Eden and her boy "friend"
We went to Eden's friend's birthday party. Dylan and Eden have been in
school together since they were babies. They are only one week apart in
age, so they've transitioned together through classes. They are little
buddies. As soon as we arrived at his party, Eden started shouting,
"Hi, Dylan! It's me!!" at the top of her lungs. Here they are hugging.
So cute!

Two Months Old
Two months old! We celebrated by going to the pediatrician for some shots. Here are some stats on Colton:
Height: 24 inches, 90%
Weight: 12 lbs 13 oz, 75%
Head: 15.5 inches, 25%
Below are Eden's stats at two months for comparison:
Eden
Height: 23.75 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs 14 oz (90th percentile)
Head: 16.5 inches (90th percentile)
Colton is definitely solid...not fat. Interestingly, his head is an entire inch smaller than Eden's. As with Eden, I took some video of Colton's shots. He cried more than Eden did, but he did well. He was pretty cranky at night after the shots, but that's to be expected. Poor baby!
Here is a video of Colton's shots:
For comparison, here is a link to Eden's video:
Overall, Colton is a good, easy going baby. He still gets up 3 times per night, but he goes back to sleep pretty quickly. He doesn't have much of a schedule yet, but he seems pretty happy as long as he eats regularly. He is still sleeping in during the mornings which allows me some much needed time to recover from the night. Colton smiles pretty regularly, though I am still waiting to hear him giggle a bit more. He definitely likes being out in public -- his best naps happen when I take him out to eat or to happy hour somewhere.

Roaring Railroads
Eden loves trains so we thought it would be fun to take her to Roaring Railroads. It's a train ride that goes through the redwoods near our house. We also thought that it would be a good way for all of us to celebrate Markham's 37th birthday. Eden had a blast. Colton slept most of the time. Markham and I enjoyed the walk we took after the train ride when both Eden and Colton slept in the stroller. It was a beautiful day!

An Easy Baby
Another example of how Colton is an easier baby than Eden...
We parked him on his play mat while we ate dinner. Without complaining, he sucked on his pacifier and eventually fell asleep. Eden would never have done that as a baby!

Little Buddy
I'm not sure if you can tell from this picture, but Colton's hair keeps getting lighter. It's a light brownish-reddish color now.

Party Girl
Eden is a party girl. She loves to be out -- anywhere! She loves to see new things and watch people. As you can see in this video, she's doing her happy dance because we were out of the house and eating at a restaurant by the beach.

Our 6th Wedding Anniversary
Markham and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary by going on a romantic night out...with our kids. Ah well, I guess that's our life right now. We'll have to take a rain check on doing anything alone as a couple for a while. The good news is that the kids were really well behaved at dinner. Eden loved being out and loved eating her fettuccine alfredo. She kept telling us that we couldn't have any of it or take it away. Colton needed to be held and I had to eat with one hand, but otherwise, he was pretty quiet. How our lives have changed in six years!!
