Hello World!

Colton Peterson Yonkers entered this world at 3:39 am on August 8, 2012, two and a half weeks before his due date.  Rachel was resting on the couch when her water broke.  She ran to get Markham who was in the shower, and they scrambled to get out of the house to get to the hospital.  Rachel's contractions were coming on hard and fast during the drive to Mountain View.  Fortunately (and despite road construction), they made it without a hitch and Rachel didn't have to give birth in the car.  Five hours and one strong epidural later, Colton literally fell out into the doctor's hands.

Colton weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and measured 21 inches.  Neither of us was very surprised that he was a boy, but both of us were shocked at the amount of hair that he had.
